Creating an Exceptional (and Ethical) LinkedIn Presence
Maintaining your professional network is even more crucial now than it ever has been, and LinkedIn is an often overlooked resource for doing so. Although a large majority of lawyers have a LinkedIn presence, few lawyers use it strategically or obtain the maximum benefits from using it. Allison C. Johs, co-author of Make LinkedIn Work for You: A Practical Handbook for Lawyers and Other Legal Professionals, will present this LinkedIn session to give you practical tips, answer frequently-asked questions, and point out ethics pitfalls along the way. She’ll walk you through the three basic building blocks of LinkedIn – Profiles, Connections, and Participation and critique some NAWL members’ profiles for real-world examples of how to improve. This session will cover: using LinkedIn to increase your online visibility and encourage referrals; tips for corporate hiring and recruitment; LinkedIn as a business development and marketing tool for law firms; ethics traps for the unwary LinkedIn user
