Become a mentor

In honor of International Women’s Day, I want to challenge all of you successful women to mentor a young, up-and-coming woman in your field.

Here are some ways you can do that:

  • Provide a supportive environment and make space for them to voice their concerns and ask for help or advice.
  • Help them to set realistic goals and build the skills necessary to achieve them.
  • Offer regular, constructive feedback.
  • Introduce them to your contacts and facilitate networking opportunities.

For more tips for mentors and mentees, check out this article I wrote for the ABA Law Practice Magazine – and if for some reason you can’t get access to the article, send me an email and I’ll send you a copy).

Happy International Women’s Day!
